KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School Opening in 2014

KIPP Delta Public Schools will be opening KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School on July 14, 2014. KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School will serve only ninth grade in 2014-2015, but will grow to serve grades nine through twelve in the next four years. KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School will be led by Maisie Wright, current School Director of KIPP Blytheville College Preparatory School (BCPS).  The founding class of students at BCPS, who are currently completing eighth grade, will become the founding high school class this summer. This class of students, many of whom have been at KIPP since fifth grade, will be the first graduating class of KIPP Delta students in Blytheville in 2018. The Class of 2018 outperformed the state of Arkansas on the Benchmark in all tested areas last year, and one third of the class is currently taking a tenth grade Geometry course. KIPP Blytheville’s sister school, KIPP Delta Collegiate High School in Helena, has graduated four classes of students and 97% of all students have been accepted to college. Today, over 85% of graduates are persisting in college or the armed forces. KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School plans to have similar success in setting students on the path to and through college.

Enrollment for KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School is now open. Any students interested in enrolling to attend ninth grade during the 2014-2015 school year can do so online (www.kippdelta.org) or on campus at 1200 Byrum Road. There are currently twelve seats available in the Class of 2018.

KIPP Delta is currently searching for two Assistant Principals, one for the high school and one for the middle school. All interested applicants should visit www.kippdelta.org for more details. KIPP Delta is also hiring high school and middle school teachers across all content areas, teaching assistants, special education teachers, a physical education teacher, and a music teacher.
