KIPP Delta Public Schools Announces Malco Classic Movies

KIPP Delta Public Schools announces a new community initiative - Malco Classic Movies, a series of Hollywood blockbusters open to everyone in the community. Each month, a new movie will be shown at the historic Malco theatre on Cherry Street.

Liz Thomas, KIPP Collegiate High School drama teacher, dreamed up the idea for the Friday films.  “Our movie series offers top entertainment at a very affordable price in a safe place. KIPP students, teachers and staff handle concessions, serving up lots of hot popcorn and cold drinks.  We invite everyone to come downtown for great movies and lots of family fun,” Thomas said.

November’s feature film is “Star Wars IV – A New Hope” set for Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $2.00 per person. Other upcoming movie titles include Home Alone and A Miracle on 34th Street (1947 version) in December) and Casablanca in January.
