99% of Blytheville Parents are Proud to be KIPPsters

All KIPP schools are built on the belief that data-driven decisions help schools to provide the best education possible. The national network of schools, led by the KIPP Foundation, do not simply measure success based on test scores, but rather on Six Essential Questions. Individual schools, KIPP regions, and the network as a whole are consistently assessing data around the following questions within the Healthy Schools & Regions framework:

Are we serving the children who need us?

Are our students staying with us?

Are our students progressing and achieving academically?

Are our alumni climbing the mountain to and through college?

Are we building a sustainable people model?

Are we building a sustainable financial model?

These Six Essential Questions include both academic and nonacademic indicators of school success including college attainment, student achievement, student attrition, teacher retention, and the number of teachers and other staff preparing to assume school leadership roles. KIPP assesses these indicators by surveying every student, parent, school leader, teacher, and staff member once each quarter. This allows schools to understand how culture, leadership, and instructional strategies are impacting results. This quarter, the results from the parent survey at KIPP Blytheville College Preparatory School hit higher marks than ever before. Currently, 99% of KIPP Blytheville parents are proud that their child attends KIPP, which is the highest mark of all 141 KIPP schools in the country. Additionally, 98% of parents believe that KIPP teachers set high standards and 98% believe that, with hard work, their child is capable of attending college. These percentages put KIPP Blytheville in the top quartile of all KIPP schools in the country.

KIPP Blytheville College Preparatory School currently serves grades 4-8, and KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School will begin serving 9th grade this summer. Students and parents who are interested in learning more about KIPP are invited to attend an open house on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4:30-7:00pm.
